Vacuum Excavators
Vacuum excavators offer a safe and effective way of clearing unwanted earth around pipes and sewer systems. And because not all projects are the same, Ditch Witch® offers a large variety of both air and hydro vacuum excavators for your business. Below we’ll discuss the difference between these two categories of equipment.
Air excavators use highly pressurized air to break up soil and other materials. This allows for the easy removal of excess earth around underground utilities. They are most often used when working near delicate piping systems that may rupture or break from water pressure. Additionally, the removed material can later be added back to the hole, due to the fact that it remains dry throughout the entire process.
Hydro excavators apply pressurized water to a given area, creating a slurry of soil, rock, and water. This can then be easily removed via the vacuum system. Hydro excavators can remove most types of material with ease, often making them the more efficient option.
Choosing the Right Vacuum Excavator
Selecting the right equipment for the job will largely come down to the size of your project, the amount of material that will be removed, and the amount of force needed to remove that material. Whether you’re working on a small site or a large construction operation, we’ve got a vacuum excavator to fit your needs.
